Do You See What I See

You- is You

I – is God

2 years ago the “Gift” the Lord asked me to give the 2010 mommySTRONG class at the Dinner Party was a mirror. It was a really cute compact mirror with the first initial of their name on the outside. The Lord’s meaning behind the mirrors was a challenge for each of the women to look at themselves through the spiritual, instead of the natural. More often than not, when we look into the mirror the little voices in our head initially are negative.

“I look rough,”   “my laugh lines are getting deeper,”  ” Look at my second chin,” on and on…… So God’s challenge to all of us at that time was to look in the mirror for 2 minutes straight, blocking out all negative voices, and saying positive things about yourself as a person. Things that had nothing to do with your physical. He said, “Do you see what I see,”-  totally different perspective.

If we all could really see how God felt about us, then none of us would ever have a Love issue. No insecurities, fears, weight or self-esteem issues. (more tomorrow on those door openers )

I Challenge each of you to do the same, look into the mirror for 2 minutes straight and speak life to yourself. For some of you, you are all you got!!

If you haven’t figured it out yet, mommystrong is here to speak LIFE. Whether daily with these devotionals, or the 3x a week live at class.  Each of you need to look at this is also 1 hour (plus drive time) where you can focus strictly on yourself and it IS ok to do that. I promise you if you begin to shift you focus on speaking Life to your situations, you will be amazed how fast this class will go and how much stronger you became.

So Father in the name of Jesus prick the hearts of every person who reads this. I speak to Self-bitterness, forgiveness,self-rejection, and guilt. That they be silenced, in the name of Jesus. That each of them begin to break free and look st themselves with New eyes, Spiritual eyes. In jesus name AMEN!

Hurt People will Hurt People

Hurt-to inflict with physical pain : to wound or damage

Everyone at some point will be hurt. Everyone at some point will hurt someone else whether intentionally or unintentionally. The problem is most people do not heal properly. Then they hold on to it causing it to be more toxic.  Being hurt is a door opener for a wounded heart that builds up resentment from the time of entry. I have done counseling over the years and was forced to look back on my life. I had to recognize pivotal points in my life where I was significantly hurt by someone else.

Basically, a timeline and a list of people so I could recognize several things.  a.) where it started  b.) who it was with   c.) discern patterns  d.) ultimately break free and heal.

This exercise I would challenge each of you to do, not to dwell on them but to heal. Because of this exercise, I was able to recognize my insecurities, and face fears that had tormented me for years. Your door points can be very small to very traumatic.

For instance, the first entry I wrote down of  when I was hurt the most, was when I was going into 5th grade. My older  (only) sister was going into 7th grade. Keri and I would sleep in her room in bunk beds (even though I had my own room) most of the nights during the week all growing up. The night before school started she locked me out of her room. She said she was going into Jr. High and could no longer let me sleep with her b/c that was childish. I was devastated. That hurt and affected me so much, literally our relationship to this day has never been the same. Now let’s be clear, there were a number of things after that instance which brought about resentment that hasn’t even been restore to date. I know some of you are thinking that is so small, yes it is, but I rebelled at that point. Because we didn’t grow up in a very forgiving or communicative household it just grew like a disease. I have since asked for forgiveness on my part for the years of hate I spewed, but it takes 2 willing parties. This relationship years later (as I am 37 yrs old) has yet to be restored and going on 5 yrs of not talking)–Pray for me on that one

Another entry of hurt is more extreme. Years later in college I became pregnant with my boyfriend at the time who was Catholic (and remember I was atheist til the age of 22 yrs old) I aborted the baby (I was 21 yrs old) and it was the worst experience of my life mentally. Even though I willingly chose the abortion, I knew without a shadow of a doubt something was very wrong with that. As far as the boyfriend, he begged me to keep the baby. Not only did I go against his wishes, I broke up with him, never to see him again. He died 3 yrs later of Heart failure at 25yrs old.

There is a very deep spiritual significance to his death not doubt, but it is also the point that led me to Christ.

I had 15 other entries in my timeline where I was able to see how I was deeply hurt. Then how I  hurt someone else. I am thankful to say, I have repented and Jesus has begun healing me. Even though looking back can be painful he Can and Will do the same for you.

Psalm 9:10
Those who know your name trust in you,  for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you

Changed Heart

Changed-to give a different position, course, or direction to

Heart- the central or innermost part

mommySTRONG’s tagline is Change your Mind, and Change Your Life”   we believe that if your mind is changed everything else will follow. Over the years, through my own personal trials and heart breaks I realized the heart is directly connected with  your mind. If you have a healing in your heart then the way you think about certain things will change too. You must understand healing takes time.

Think about someone who just had open heart surgery (which for some of you right now might be going through a spiritual heart surgery) you don’t just get up after surgery and start doing the normal activity you did before. It takes time. Things that come to mind:

An unexpected loss of a loved one/ or baby. There is no explanation or right answer just the hole in your heart that leaves a void.

A sudden break-up or divorce that leaves a taste of bitterness. That cripples you emotionally as you have to pick up and start over.

Physical aliments or disease that you have been battling with for years with no sign of relief.

I want you to get this, if any of you have a hurt, heavy, or faint heart and need a change go deep and get healed. This is the time now to heal wounds, break scar tissue, and strengthen your heart. It will hurt in the beginning (like working out) but each day it gets easier and stronger.

Ladies, this is not easy until you hand  your heart over so change can happen.

Now let’s get to work….physically and emotionally. Let’s HEAL!!

Heavy Heart

Heavy- having great weight

Heart- the central or innermost part

In our current world state it is so easy to become bogged down, and depressed with a heavy heart. Let alone having to deal with issues with families, spouses and kids. As women we play so many roles and tend to take on the burdens for everyone. We must Stop the madness!! Jesus died to carry our burdens. God’s plan for your life is greater than your plan.

A heavy heart can come from som many things. A betrayal, a death, loss of job, a divorce, a break-up, a sickness, you get the point. Let’s begin to remove these things. The Heavy- (having a great weight) is literally pounds on you. I challenge you to close your eyes and visually see your heavy heart issue in your hands and handing it over to Jesus. Heal your heart and remove the weight!!!

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light

Deep Heart

Deep- extending far from some surface or area

Heart- one’s innermost character, feelings, or inclinations.

Family can be the most wonderful relationships, but for some not so much. Have you ever had relationships with family members that are very surface and unemotional? Where you know you can’t have deep conversations without it getting twisted or distorted in some way.

Well this is impossible with God. In fact, he longs for the deepest relationship with you. Is your relationship with your Creator a surface one? I challenge yourself to go deeper with your Heavenly Father. Open your heart and go Deep.

I still struggle with going deeper with God, I let myself get so busy with emails, text, Facebook all come before my relationship sometimes. Foundation principles I had to overcome. Because I was atheist growing up, I have a tendency to look at God as a reflection on my Earthly father. Even though I know my Dad is human and humans will always let you down. I am still renewing my mind to Trust in the Lord and make sure my Children have the strong Foundation from the beginning, so their struggle isn’t as hard.

Where do you start? In the morning wake up just 5 minutes early. Thank God for another day, and just share with him your struggles. Food, procrastination, fears, ect… and pray for strength. That is it, that is how you start you will build from there. Dont make it too complicated

Sometimes the most simplest things can be the hardest, even for the most mature/seasoned people.

Mark 12:30

30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and

with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Open Heart

Open- To move from a closed position

Heart- The central most inner Part, the essential or most vital part of something

Whether this is your 1st, 3rd or 10th mommySTRONG class, this journey is requiring you to Open your Heart. Open, meaning let down your guard and  face your fears. By doing this you will be able to drop bad habits, fears, and emotions and transform your future.

You can either go through this program and do good. Or you can go through this program and Change Your Life!

The goal of mommySTRONG is never to make someone dependent on us, but dependent on God. God is in control and wants the best for each of you. Open your Heart and let him heal any wounds, so you can be the best you can be. God wants to meet you where you are at right now, and take you to the desires of your heart. Dream Again!!!

Psalm 37:3-4

3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land   and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight   in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Divine Time

Divine-  relating to, or proceeding directly from God

Time- the measured or measurable period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continue

Whether you are Newbie or an Alumni, this is a Divine Time. I pray that God puts the exact people in each of the classes that are supposed to be in it. Over the course of the next 12 weeks I will send devotionals that will challenge you to search your heart. Most of these are personal challenges I have been through. A huge part of this program (outside of working out) is to change the negative, fearful thinking we all can become subject to.

At any point throughout this 12 weeks if you need prayer or individual encouragement do not hesitate to contact one of the trainers.

Remember is transforming yourself was easy, everyone would be doing it. Take 1 day at a time and do the best you can for that day.

Change Your Mind, and Change Your Life!!!

Foolish Man

The Foolish Man

Proverbs 14:7- 7Go from the presence of a foolish and self-confident man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips

The old saying birds of a feather flock together, Who are you hanging around? You know my circle of friends has changed over the years. I distinctly remembering when I started following Christ that place when I had my Church friends and still had my worldly partying friends. Being stuck in the Gray area can be miserable. You don’t realize it until you make the complete transition. Eventually, God will remove some people, but there is always 1 person that you will have to start distancing yourself from on your own. God wants to see if you are going to meet him. This is free will part.

Proverb 13:20-

20 He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

Everyone knows definition of insanity, Do the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.I don’t wanna sound like the broken record, BUT do the opposite, and actually get a different result. Start surrounding yourself with people that are moving forward, not keeping you down, or stuck in the grey. Who are the foolish people in your life? Are they influencing you? Are they stuck going around the same mountain? Could there be a link?

I had to realize (even this season) but with mommySTRONG I cant take it personal. People either commit and finish or they don’t. Distractions happen of course, but at some point people have to look and recognize their destructive patterns and lack of commitment towards thier health. I cant be more committed in someones else life, then they are.

Communion pt2

If we come to a Communion service and
partake in the cup and the bread, but we deny that healing and deliverance as a
part of the atonement today, then we eliminate the provision for God has on our
lives as human beings apart from salvation and eternal life in that day. For
that reason we eliminate the broken body but celebrate it and do not believe in
it, we should not partake . For this main reason many are filled with disease
and insanity today, because we have said in our hearts that healing passed away
over 2,000 years ago; yet we still participate in the sacrament of communion,
which represents the reality of today. If you do not believe it, you do not have
to worry about it, but be careful– ignorance is a form of knowledge and so is
unbelief. (A More Excellent Way, Henry Wright)

You can not recognize the blood and forget about the broken body and
what that represents to us.

Corinthians 11:29:31
29 For
those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink
judgment on themselves. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a
number of you have fallen asleep. 31 But if we were more discerning with regard
to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment.

When you do communion and you are accepting what
Jesus did and His forgiveness but you are holding onto unforgiveness towards
someone else, then you bring sickness unto you which is very serious. I don’t
care how embarrassed you may feel at a service by not taking communion with
others, but it’s not worth the reprecussion that comes back to you.

Ugly -likely to cause inconvenience or discomfort
-offensive or unpleasant to
any sense

Sometimes it takes someone else being this way to you
for you to realize how you might be treating someone else. There was an instance
when I was treated this way by a man that I couldn’t believe the lack of
compassion and immediately the Holy Spirit said this is how you have been
treating your husband. Uuggggguuuuhhh! Unfortunately, at the time I couldn’t
stop and dwell on that thought til later for that moment I had to continue
dealing with this man for another 20 minutes.

The Holy Spirit was
referring to this…… The following week I thought it was going to be a
productive week and it turned into no school, sick family and snowed in the
house. I was not happy and I took it out on my husband who was sick with the
flu. I let my frustrations and generational iniquities get in the way of me
nurturing him. This was a test that I failed at miserably and for some reason I
couldn’t easily make up for it either. I was forced to recognize where the lack
of compassion is coming from and to deal with it once and for all.

realized the Lord strategically put 3 friends and my husband in my life for a
reason. He needed them to pull something out of me and all of them are very high
