Downgrade to Upgrade

Pastor Mike Hayes says “the lower you go, the higher God takes you”
meaning the more he was on on his knees praying, the Higher God took him. I love
Samething in life, sometimes we have to get rid of thing, or walk away from
relationships that hold us down unable to make you move forward.
Kris and I years back had to make some tough decisions on cutting back on
certian expenses in order to create a better savings, and put more money back
to our business. This was hard because you grow accustom to certian lifestyle or
habits. But God told me, ” you have to downgrade so I can help you upgrade.”
Luke 16:10
10He who is faithful in a very little [thing] is
faithful also in much, and he who is dishonest and unjust in a very little
[thing] is dishonest and unjust also in much
So if you are in a situation or are ever faced with a downgrading it is
only temporary before the upgrade. BE FAITHFUL in the LITTLE, so HE can trust
you with MUCH :)

Covenant- a usually formal, solemn,
and binding agreement or
a written agreement or promise usually under seal
between two or more parties especially for the performance of some action

Are you in Covenant with God? When you decided to accept
Christ as your Savior or born again He made a Covenant with

Genesis 9:9 (New King James
9 “And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with
your descendants after you.

People miss out on the
benefits of the Covenant because they don’t actually understand when proclaimed
that they believe Jesus died on the Cross for our sins and rose again on the 3rd
day. You made a decision to TRUST in the Lord and WHEN you TRUST in the Lord
here are your benefits.
Covenant + Trust in the Lord =

Psalm 103:2-5
2 Praise the LORD, my soul,

and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns
you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things

so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Memorize or meditate on this passage for awhile because
this is a promise from God and His promises do not return Void!

Prayer from Outside

Prayer from the Outside

Most people whether Christians or not,  do not understand the Power behind prayer. When you pray on the behalf of someone else, this means you are in agreement with them even if you are not with thm. For instance, I could send out a prayer request to my friends and they can immediately be praying for me when I can pray for myself.

Have you ever been in a place, where you literally could not think properly because of the issues bombarding you from every area of life?  Regardless, if you have been following the Lord for years,  sometimes Life can get too overwhelming for the strongest of people. That is when you must have prayer from the outside (outside of yourself)

Let me give you an example. When I was starting  my Ministry for Single Parents (The Mina 4 Project) which was by far the most difficult task I have ever done in my life. Three of my friends got together during my most difficult tasks  (without me even knowing at the time) and would call each other every Tuesday and pray for Kris and I, and the project. To be honest I probably haven’t seen the lasting effects of what they did yet?

Sometimes the prayer from the outside, changes your situation on the inside…..Do you have these people in your life……PRAY for them and God will send them–

I’ve received a lot of good advice in my life. Near the top of the list is this wise observation from a friend: “Life is not made by the dreams that you dream but by the choices that you make.”

He’s right—your life today is the sum total of all the choices you’ve made up to this point. The apostle Paul gave similar advice in Philippians 1:10, when he said to “approve the things that are excellent” (1:10).

In any given situation, we have a whole continuum of choices—ranging from really rotten choices, to the mediocrity of average choices, to choices that are good, and then to those that are excellent. God wants to move us across the continuum, past our natural impulses, all the way to excellent choices.

Often it’s challenging to make the most excellent choice, especially if there aren’t many others joining us. Sometimes it may feel as if our desires and freedoms have been suppressed. But if you follow Paul’s advice, you’ll notice some really positive outcomes—like being pure and blameless and fruitful (v.11).

Make the choice to live a life filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23). Then revel in the result!

The little choices we must make
Will chart the course of life we take;
We either choose the path of light,
Or wander off in darkest night. —D. De Haan

Pre-destination vs Free Will

Pre-destination vs Free Will

Pre-destination- the doctrine that God in consequence of his foreknowledge of all events infallibly guides those who are destined for salvation

This can be a very sticking subject for some people in  and out of the church, but I will give you my 2 cents. I believe in both.  Lets not mistake, God knows everything. The beginning to the end. The word states:

Revelation 21:6
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.

The Lord ultimately knows who is going to do what and how. He is the creator of the earth and heavens. Man (people) were created for relationship. Relationship with him. Which leads me into Free Will.

Free Will- voluntary choice or decision

Even though God knows the outcome of all situations, he gives you a choice. If he didnt give us a choice then he put us on this earth to be robots. But as I told you above it is about relationship. That is what God wanted with us from the very beginning. So we have a choice to read his word. pray to him, and  grow in knowledge. So you can hear his voice. I hear from God, but it is only because I have spent the last 6 years of my life reading about how and why he created everything, what he wants for me, and what he wants me to accoumplish for HIM. I wouldnt have been able to tell you that 6 yrs ago, because I didnt know him. Even then he used other people, signs, and wonders to show me he was there. I choose to follow him and to learn more…..this is Free Will.

Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.–

Full Circle

Full Circle:

Depending on if you have fought the good fight, or a person who cuts corners, lies, or manipulates things

both WILL come around Full Circle.

Doing the right thing even when you don’t want to has its advantages long term. Doing what you say your going to do goes even farther. What does , your reputation, your name, look like?

What would others say about you? what are you known for good, bad and the ugly? Are you doing anything about the ugly, and working on the bad???

Do you want to see the things of your past restored in some way? Relationships, marriages, money, and time can all be restored by being obedient.

Proverbs 22:1
A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

Skin Deep

Skin Deep

What lies beneath? last February one of my best friends from 26yrs took me to get a birthday facial. After we were done she said” Karla your face looks so good, beautiful.” I was dumbfounded because for an hour I just heard from the lady doing my facial on how much damage I had beneath the skin.   This made me think about the processes, the journeys, the groaning, the peeling back of the onion layers….ect….that we go through.

Oh, how I want to get it right now, so my children don’t have it as hard.

People who have met me in the last 3-4 yrs would make comments about my transformation. How they wished they had my arms, or was small like me, MAN…….. if they only knew. My closest friends know the things I have battled with internally for years, that the exterior doesn’t show……..Most people couldn’t handle what I have to deal with internally on a daily basis.

The best illustration I ever heard was a man told me if a bunch women were in a circle all carrying a bag full of their problems, and you passed them around the circle, YOU would want your own problems back. Because you can deal with what you already know, not the unknown. No one ever fully knows what a person is dealing with.

We each have our process, embrace it in a way to where you continue to peel back the layers not only externally, but internally as well.

Divine Connections

Divine Connections

Divine-  of, relating to, or proceeding directly from God

Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy]

In February when I first met all of you in the initial meeting, I told you each of you were divinely ordered. Everyone of my classes are, because I pray that the Lord bring the right people to make the right fit. As you can see new friendships, relationships, and partnerships have been made since February. Every class leads me to another person who has another connection that is tied to my destiny and purpose for the Lord. I know that now and I want you to leave this class knowing it for you too. That you pray  God put in front of people that will encourage you, speak life into you, and bring you 1 step closer to your purpose.

My goal is to equip you to understand distractions of Life and how you need to just keep going no matter what. Take the things you learned here and apply them, Even if it is 1 thing at a time til you have it down,ex: I will drink all my water TODAY.

I want you to start noticing your good and bad patterns. Good meaning you watch or log your food, bad meaning you only can stay on track for a week or 2 at a time. If you notice this then begin to break it. Which means you will have to push through the point when you begin to get off track.

You All have Greatness in you, I see it. The question is Do You See It?

Who’s Watching You

There’s nothing more humbling to a parent when your kids ask you why they have
to act or be a certain way that is pleasing to God but you don’t. If your kids
haven’t said anything to you but you still address your kids to be obedient to
your request/rule then you turn around and break/bend your own rule for your
benefit. What message are you giving your kids?

Here’s some

Kids will lie about something small like cleaning
there room and you turn around to tell someone a small lie.
Kids also like
to manipulate you into getting what they want and in turn you manipulate your
spouse/boyfriend to get what you want.
Wondering why they get snappy or
mouthy and then you lose it with them over something small.

One day my
son Xavier lied to me about brushing his teeth before me taking him to
school. He actually went upstairs and sat outside his bathroom for 2 minutes
acting like he did. I found out while I was taking him to school when he smiled
and I saw a big chuck of toast was in his teeth…..duh, so then I said “you
didn’t brush your teeth did you I don’t understand”. Xavier responded “how did
you know’” and I went into this whole spiritual conversation that God sees
everything and you will eventually get caught. I said “Never leave the house
without brushing your teeth”.

His response after that was “Mom did you
brush your teeth?” and my answer was “No” and even though I knew I was coming
back home I realized that I couldn’t retract what I had made explicit to

I know this is a small lesson but I rather it be on a small scale
instead of large one.

Your kids should look up to you and not think you
are a hypocrite even with the small stuff. Are you being a good

If you don’t have kids or kids, there are employees, students
ect… then who is watching you!
