Week 8 Day 3- Covenant

Covenant- a usually formal, solemn, and binding agreement or a written agreement or promise usually under seal between two or more parties especially for the performance of some action

Are you in Covenant with God? When you decided to accept Christ as your Savior or born again He made a Covenant with you.Genesis 9:9 (New King James Version)
9 “And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you.

People miss out on the benefits of the Covenant because they don’t actually understand when proclaimed that they believe Jesus died on the Cross for our sins and rose again on the 3rd day. You made a decision to TRUST in the Lord and WHEN you TRUST in the Lord here are your benefits.
Covenant + Trust in the Lord = Benefits

Psalm 103:2-5
2 Praise the LORD, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Memorize or meditate on this passage for awhile because this is a promise from God and His promises do not return Void!

Week 8 Day 2- Gossip

Definition of Gossip-

1: a person who habitually reveals personal or sensational facts about others
2 : rumor or report of an intimate nature b : a chatty talk

James 4:11-12
11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister[d] or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

Women find themselves far too often in this position. When everything you say about the 3rd person(s) always hurts everyone involved. The person who is gossiping, the person who is listening to the gossip and the person(s) or situation that is being gossiped about. The enemy finds a way to twist everything you say by giving you something to talk about that certain situation that involves that certain person(s) and which then allows the enemy legal access for him (called doorway) to come back and torment you later.

Ultimately, no one ever fully understands what another person(s) is going through. As we all know no one can ever truly know what goes on behind closed doors, good or bad……I challenge you (and myself) to refrain from the fleshly desire to talk about someone else when the situation arises. If you have gossiped about someone you should recognize, repent, and turn away. Physical healing in your body can be hindered because of what you have spoken about others.

I too have to be very careful especially that I have experienced all aspects of gossip. I have gossiped, listened to gossip and I have been the one gossiped about and none of them gave me any peace of mind or fulfillment in my heart.

Proverbs 16:28
A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.

Week 8 Day 1- What Goes Around Comes Around

Week 7 Day 1- What Goes Around Comes Around

John 20:23

*23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain
the sins of any, they are retained.”*

Did you know if you speak evil against someone that is a curse and what you speak against another person does return back to you.
It wasn’t until till last year I started having issues with my colon is when I began to learn how serious the implications of my yelling and verbal abuse to others had affected my physical and spiritual being.

Where there is unresolved family conflicts of bitterness, unresolved
antagonism, words of frustration and anger have occurred it causes damage

throughout the successive generations. (Henry Wright “More Excellent Way).

The spiritual root of Colon issues are slander of the tongue, and a deeply
rooted in bitterness.I have forgiven my forefathers from previous generations from anger and verbal abuse from when it began. Anger and verbal abuse is a generational
curse and I have taken responsibility by repenting and renouncing it from my life. The curse has been broken and our family is free from this cycle of anger and verbal abuse.

You can see that the last few weeks of devotionals how our spiritual and physical are so closely connected. If you are frustrated all the time with your physical success status or where are you Spiritually. In your quiet time ask the Father God to reveal to you what is hindering you, so that you
can truly be free.

Father we ask you to set someone free today from any bondage of verbal abuse, words of frustrations and anger.

Let their life, strength, and words of revelation come from You. Let a heavenly presence of your love surround them in the time
when the enemy might want to creep back into their lives. Let your conviction rise in them
so that when temptation comes that they will not go down that path. Let the weight this has
put on them both spiritually and physically completely drop off of them now in the mighty blood and name

of Jesus. I love you Lord and I thank you for your son and the freedom we will always have. AMEN!

James 4:7-8 *Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw
near to God and He will draw near to you*

Week 7 Day 5- Command

Week 7 Day 5- Command

Joshua 1:9
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.

Here we are again we see God commanding you (us)

Command : to exercise a dominating influence over : have command of: as

to be strong……..

Definition of STRONG:

1: having or marked by great physical power

2: having moral or intellectual power

3: having great resources (as of wealth or talent)

Do you have great physical power, moral intellect power, or great resources, because he is commanding to be STRONG. and courageous.

Definition of COURAGE: mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty

Do you have mental strength, do you preserve, withstand fear and difficulty?

When looking at these definitions it brings a whole other dynamic to what our Father in Heaven is trying to get us to see. The Authority we have in us, that we don’t use. Why do we let all the circumstances around us dictate our day or our actions. Lets be strengthened knowing my Father has commanded me to have the above. I encourage you to exercise the power within you so it can become a habit in the future.

Week 7 Day 4- Void

 Week 7 Day 4- Void

Void- not occupied : vacant

You dont want a void in your life too long. The Lord gives you and opportunity to fill it with His love, but this can only happen through reading his word. Then letting the Holy Spirit fill that void. Unfortunately, there is an enemy fighting to fill that void which would only lead to destruction

John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Wholeness in every area of your life is making sure you bring God into every area of your life. Sometimes in the hectic, microwave society we get so bogged down that we just end up walking through life like we are waiting to die.  I fit everything and everyone else in, then there was no room left for God. So I had to cut alot of things and people out of my life in order to bring God in. And when I did, my relationships were better then the ones I had before. So take inventory in your life, what and who can you make boundaries with. Then you can let God come in to heal and set your free from your bondages.

Week 7 Day 3- Laziness

 Week 7 Day 3- Laziness

Definition of LAZY

1 : disinclined to activity or exertion : not energetic or vigorous b : encouraging inactivity or indolence
3: moving slowly : sluggish
4: placed on its side

Everyone can become lazy or have days of laziness. If this is the norm for you, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT? There are so many scriptures about how God feels about lazy people. As you read the ones below the lazy person stays where they are at and hardly ever gets ahead. Make the changes necessary today to focus on one area of your life you know you are lazy and CHANGE IT! If is this is a struggle God will always be ready to help the willing, but you will have to meet him half way.

Proverbs 20:4
Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing

Proverbs 10:5
He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

Proverbs 12:24
Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor

Proverbs 19:15
Laziness brings on deep sleep, and the shiftless go hungry.–

There are lots of other reason why people might be getting ahead that doesn’t pertain to laziness, but let’s make sure we rule this one out.

Week 7 Day 2- Gradualism

 Week 7 Day 2-Gradualism

Definition of Gradualism:  proceeding or changing by steps or degrees

It takes 21 days to form a new habit whether good or bad. Have you broke bad habits? Have you formed new ones? Please write down what you never wanna go back to, and what you are going to step it up on.

Look around you, what used to be fresh and new, your house, your car, your clothes, ect… and in time anything starts to gradually become old. The only option to get a new body is surgery. Even then you are taking a gamble. As a trainer, with spiritual beliefs people ask me all the time  what I feel about plastic surgery. I do not believe in Gastric Bypass, unless the person is about to die. As far as cosmetic, the only way I would give a blessing to my clients to get lipo, lifts, breasts, ect… is if they have the right motive, emotionally right, and I have seen them do my program (or another healthy program) and completely finish with success. Other then that NO Way!

Do not worry about things, focus on discerning the areas of your life that will ultimatly matter later and God will take care of your needs his promise in Luke 12:22-23

22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.

So dont let gradualism sink in about THINGS, and more THINGS. Focus on what matters and make it better. Deal with the issues that hinder success in any area. Whether it being from you having to control everything, over spending, worrying, being in constant fear, gossiping….whatever it is that the enemy keeps you in bondage in that distroys the relationships around you.

Week 7 Day 1

Week 7 Day 1

 Definition of COMMAND

: to direct authoritatively : order
: to exercise a dominating influence over : have command of: as a
: to have at one’s immediate disposal
: to have or exercise direct authority : govern  to give orders

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them

You see in verse 7 God didn’t say,”Hey if you want to, or if you feel like it” then prophesy. Ezekiel said as I was commanded! And Ezekiel did it immediately, and saw immediate result. How many times does the Lord command us to do things and we take our time. Do you realize that disobedience to the Lord is bondage.  So whatever the Lord is telling you to do, DO IT, Obey Quickly. Whether to forgive someone, to pray for a stranger, end a toxic relationship, to give something without having anything in return…whatever…even if you do not understand, Do it because the Lord says,

Proverbs 3:5-8
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
       and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.

8 This will bring health to your body
       and nourishment to your bones

Reread verse 8……………………..Health to your body and nourishment to your BONES!

Seeing Positive Changes

Last week with the approaching 4 Week Weigh-In and Karla’s statements that there might not be a big change in the scale, I decided that I was going to rejoice in any, big or small, changes that I saw.  I knew that somethings have begun to shift because the way my clothes were fitting.  Well,  there was a 2% reduction in body fat and 5 less pounds of me.  How fantastic!

Today I went to see my physician who has a machine that calculates body fat, muscle mass, and cell hydration, this machine is called a BIA (BioImpedence Analysis).  I’ve been having a BIA done since 2006.  Today’s BIA compared to a year ago I have lost 6.7 pounds of fat, and gained 2.2 pounds of muscle.  Which puts me back to where I was in 2006 except with an extra pound of muscle.  That is monumental!  Don’t get me wrong, I still have issues.  But it so so encouraging that in a matter of 4 weeks to see such changes that is enough to keep me going.

Despite any groaning or bellyaching I do during the workout, I look forward to each session.

Thanks MommySTRONG, you’ve made a difference in my life.
